You couldn’t avoid retaliation of the gang life
You were guilty of being gifted conflicted and militant
And you stopped those cops from taking rights from the innocent
Thug life evolved from just a phrase to practically religion
And after Mike Brown we need a strong voice in the game
That isn’t so timid
When the killings by police seems unprovoked indiscriminate

As long as you’re a black man looks like you on some nigga shit
The police authority just becomes illegitimate
I see no changes even with a black president
died at age twenty five
wish they would’ve let you live
