lyrics

Never Ignorant Getting Goals Accomplished
Me and my accomplices
Connected with your struggle as an artist
Nine Twelve Ninety Six I remember that day
On the bus in third grade prayin you’d be ok
That’s a feeling that I’m tryna convey
How I felt the day your life was taken away

I used to write thug life on my chest
With a sharpie I swiped from my momma’s desk
Imitating what I heard and saw on the screen
Ring and middle cross um up don’t know what it means
But I was just little kid tryna be cool
So they thought I was a hooligan when I was in school

You know what really trips me out is how
You knew that you’d die young
You were younger than I am now
When they removed your right lung

Life doesn’t just go on
Life doesn’t just go on
Life doesn’t just go on
No life doesn’t just go on

You survived 5 shots why not nine
Black beamer shot up flee the scene of the crime
They say there were no witnesses but I know somebody lyin’
Cuz The Tyson fight had just gotten out at that time
6 days in the hospital fighting for your life
After nine months on death row harassed and terrorized
Can’t imagine all the pain you felt when you realized that
You couldn’t avoid retaliation of the gang life
You were guilty of being gifted conflicted and militant
And you stopped those cops from taking rights from the innocent
Thug life evolved from just a phrase to practically religion
And after Mike Brown we need a strong voice in the game
That isn’t so timid
When the killings by police seems unprovoked indiscriminate

As long as you’re a black man looks like you on some nigga shit
The police authority just becomes illegitimate
I see no changes even with a black president
died at age twenty five
wish they would’ve let you live
Because your music set a precedent
Stop the violence it has to stop we have to win

Life doesn’t just go on
Life doesn’t just go on
Life doesn’t just go on
No life doesn’t just go on
